Growing up I was over weight unconfident, shy, and overall unhappy with who I was. As kid I remember always being invited to hangout with friends just to be the one they made fun of to get a laugh out of it. To most people this may seem like bullying witch they would be right, but to me this was normal everyday life. I got so used to it I believed this is how friends were supposed to treat each other. …

When I was fourteen years old I was in a PE class filled with basketball players. All I wanted was to feel normal and accepted by the other boys. In my attempts to fit in I would tell them how I was going to make the varsity basketball team. What I didn't know was that by saying that they would then continue to make fun of me and now start calling me varsity.

The boys in the class loved to mess with me by hiding my clothes while I was in the shower. Craving their approval I did not yell…

Emulations of “In a station of the metro” by Ezra Pound

Poem one:

The sound of wind rushing through the trees

Rain dropping on the leaf's

Poem 2:

Seeing my family in the crowed

Hoping I will make them proud

Artistic statement:

I chose this poem because I found it interesting how the author got her message cross in only two lines. In replicating the authors style I found it was much more difficult to write and get my point across while only using only two lines. I managed this challenge by planning my thought more carefully.

I have learned that mimesis writing can help your creative writing by giving you new ideas on writing styles so that you can experiment with the different styles.

Interpretation or the meaning of something is decided on the reader, viewer, or listener of what is being interpreted. Say two people read the same book. Reader one may from a complete opposite idea of what the true meaning of the book is than what reader two made. Even though both readers interpreted the story differently doesn't mean either of them are wrong. The only true way to find the meaning of something is to ask the person who created it, otherwise the interpretation is left to the reader.

The same idea of interpretation can be said in music, plays…

Should the drinking age be 18 instead of 21?

In 1984 the US changed the law from 18 legal drinking age to 21 years old. I believe that the drinking age in America should be 18 instead of 21, for multiple reasons such as; Drinking age around the world, the age to join the army, and the age to become an adult.

First of all, the drinking age around the world is mostly 18. If an 18 year old from London moved to America after their 18th birthday they wouldn't be aloud to drink here. This to me doesn't make…

I find what happened with the telephone poles awful. I had no idea that history of them until now. I never knew that they were used to lynch black people back when they were fist invented. I don’t understand why people hated the telephone pole back then, because now its used in our every day life. Learning about the dark history of the telephone pole has made me realize even more how much of history we haven’t been taught. I question why schools hid the dark parts of history from young students. Learning about events like this could help us better understand the past and prevent it from happening again. I believe that the story was very interesting but scary as well.

I write because I have a open imagination, and I like to create stories on paper that people can read and enjoy as well. I write to give joy to others, to make people smile, laugh, and to bring people up when they are down. Writing can also be a distraction for me. Whenever I start over thinking about a situation I can sit down and write what I'm feeling I can create a story that can help make me feel better or understand the situation I am thinking about.

Writing is a form of self expression that can be produced with only a pen and paper. Writing matters because it allows ones self to express who they are in a story.
